Andy Nyman, The Louisiana State University assistant professor of wetland wildlife and ecology, was quoted as saying:

He expected to see much more shoreline damage at the mouth of the Mississippi River after a July 23 oil spill near the Crescent City Connection dumped an estimated 400,000 gallons of oil into the river.
