CEO’s of Canada’s 10 largest Oil Sands companies are pursuing PR strategies to improve their industry’s poor image. This group has launched an internet discussion forum to seek concerns, views and opinions directly from the Canadian public.

Rick George, CEO of Suncor, was quoted as saying:

The first step is to open ourselves up to listen to what their concerns are. Hopefully the second step is to get a dialogue going–an evenhanded dialogue, which I think has been missing in this conversation in Canada.
